RTÉ MEDIA SALES UP FOR SEVEN AWARDS IN THIS YEARS MEDIA AWARDS

The 2018 Media Awards shortlist has been announced and RTÉ Media Sales strongly features across a number of categories, along with all the industry greats. We have worked with a wide variety of brands throughout the year to create innovative and exciting advertising which is being recognised for its work with seven nominations across five categories.
 
 
Our work with Aldi during the Six Nations has been nominated for Best Use of Content. With Aldi Kids Rugby RTÉ created our own pre-match, half-time and post-match show. We even built a mini replica TV sports studio set similar to RTE’s – but just for kids.
 
 
In the Best Collaboration by an Agency and a Media Owner (Cross Media) category our work with GSK and Panadol has been nominated. Using RTÉ’s distinctive central place in the Irish home our Commercial Solutions team created a campaign that focused on the “Made in Ireland” element of Panadol. This campaign, which ran across TV, through sponsorships of Ear to the Ground and Nationwide, Radio and VOD, had tremendous positive effects for the Panadol brand.
 
 
RTÉ’s work with Sure during the GAA Football and Hurling Championship is nominated in the Best Collaboration by an Agency and a Media Owner (TV) category. RTÉ worked with Mindshare to bring fans unique extra insights into the game through live stats delivered in-break.
 
 
The Weather Star campaign which RTÉ created for Avonmore Super Milk was nominated for Best Collaboration by an Agency and a Media Owner (Radio). We teamed up with advertising agency Carat to give one lucky child the opportunity to be a Weather Star for a day!
 
 
In the Best Creative Direction / Execution by a Media Owner category we were nominated three times. RTÉ’s work with Aldi and GSK was nominated in this category as was the Paddy Power Live Ads that we created for the Ireland games in the World Cup Qualifiers. RTÉ transformed a Broadcast Sponsorship into a real time celebration of Irish football by featuring a series of specially commissioned live sponsor stings utilising social media activity for the games.
 
 
The Media Awards will be held Thursday 5th April in the Clayton Hotel on Burlington Road. It’s sure to be a great night for the industry…best of luck to all involved.
